The Area
Located on a quiet, residential side street in Montmartre, the Tourlaque apartment is literally surrounded by the artistic heritage of Paris.
It is bounded on one side by the former studio of Toulouse Lautrec, on another side by the Cite des Fusains, which housed artists such as Forain, Poulbot,
Renoir, Willette, and on the third side by the Cimetiere de Montmartre, a final resting place of many leading French poets, writers, artists, and
historic figures. Some people who are buried there include Dalida, Alexandre Dumas, Stendhal, Edgar Degas and Hector Berlioz.
The Artist's Corner apartment has a neighbourhood cafe just steps from its front door as well as a green grocer, wine shop, cheese shop, "patisserie",
and more.
Location
Rue Tourlaque is bound by rue Lepic at one end and rue Joseph de Maistre at the other. This is in the heart of Montmartre, with so much to explore.
You can enjoy a walk through the neighbouring "quartiers" or take the "RATP" (bus or metro) to anywhere else in Paris.

Bedroom 1: Queen Bed
Your apartment is a combination the best of traditional Parisian apartments (fine moldings, parquet floors, floor to ceiling windows) with all
modern conveniences.
The charming, inviting living room features beautiful ceiling plasterwork, parquet floors and a marble fireplace.
Floor to ceiling windows overlook the Cite des Fusains, an artists' complex situated in an historic half-timber structure which is shown in the photo above in the 'area' section of this page.
The area buildings surround a central courtyard, whose trees project above the lowest building, adding to the view from your window.
The living room is furnished with a high quality sofa bed which converts to a double bed.
This room easily transforms to a pleasant second bedroom in the evening and since the bedroom can also be accessed from the hallway, the door leading to the bedroom
from the salon can be shut for privacy.
The dining area features a round table big enough to comfortably seat 4 people.
The luminous and spacious master bedroom has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the artists' colony.
The bedroom is furnished with a luxurious queen sized bed and features a desk area with a computer which has permanent internet access.
There is also a classic French armoire to provide you with storage facilities for your clothes and belongings.
The bedroom can be accessed either from the living room or, should you be more than two people, from the hallway.
Two antique nightstands on either side of the table add to the charm and warmth of this room.
We have fully equipped the kitchen that has an electric stove with oven as well as microwave and refrigerator with freezer compartment.
There is also a toaster and automatic coffee maker.
The heating in this apartment is efficiently controlled by a gas heater which is located in the kitchen by the sink.
This room boasts a window overlooking the Montmartre Cemetery, with a row of trees adding to the sense of green space and tranquility.
The afternoon sunlight streams through the kitchen which makes it the perfect place to prepare a late breakfast or early dinner.
It is very common in many Parisian apartments to have the bathroom and toilet separated into two rooms as we have at this apartment.
One room has a large, modern shower stall with a sink and combination washer/drier.
There is also a large storage cabinet for you to arrange your toiletries.
The other has a toilet with sink.
You are not required to enter either the bedroom or living room to gain access to these facilities.
The entry hall has an antique coat rack to provide you with plenty of storage for your coats, sweaters, keys, boutique purchases and more.
Most of the work one the walls are original watercolours and oils done by a local artists, Marie-Cerise Risacher, who is also available for
personal portrait work.
