The Area
The apartment is ideally located for exploring Montmartre, made famous by so many artists, including Van Gogh, Picasso and Toulouse Lautrec and
filmmakers such as Truffaut and Jeunet. It's just a two-minute walk from the artists' square, the Place du Tertre, and the Sacré Coeur (which you
can see from the balcony).
Montmartre is a beautiful old village made famous in many movies and works of art with its staircases up the hill, its windmills, its winding cobbled
streets, its pretty cafés, its cabarets (the Moulin Rouge is just down the hill) its artists studios (Picasso's is just around the corner from the
apartment) and its authentic village life.
Location
The top end of rue Lepic, where the apartment is located, is the quieter end. While you are just minutes from all the sights, you're away from
the noise of the crowds. The area offers a wonderful choice of excellent restaurants. There is also a large and varied selection of food shops nearby -
farther down rue Lepic and rue des Abbesses or on rue Caulaincourt. You will be spoiled for choice!
Montmartre is a wonderful area to explore on foot. It is also well served by public transport. If the hills of Montmartre get too much for you,
there is an electric bus that serves the quartier called the Montmartrobus and stops just a few steps from the apartment building on rue Lepic.
The nearest metro station is Abbesses, which is a two-minute walk away. The metro line 12 runs through here and it is a very convenient line for
getting anywhere in Paris. It's a straight run to Concorde or over to the Left Bank.

Bedroom 1: Double Bed
When the owner first visited this apartment she fell in love with it and we are sure you will too! You will feel completely at home in this classic
apartment and you can use it as a base to explore Montmartre plus all of Paris.
The flat has been completely redecorated and refurbished.
It is typically Parisian with marble fireplaces, oak wood floors, plaster mouldings,
large windows and affords a spectacular view from the balcony of the Moulin de la Galette, one of Montmartre's famous windmills.
This 40 square meter (430 square feet) apartment has a living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, entry hallway and walk-in closet.
Both the bedroom and the living room have their original marble fireplaces. The one in the bedroom also has the original antique gilt mirror over
it.
Since every room is off the hallway, it is ideal for accommodating people on the sofa bed and in the bedroom as everyone can have access to the kitchen and
bathroom/WC without having to walk through another room.
The living room is bright and airy, thanks to the large double windows that open onto a small balcony. From here, you have a stunning view of one
of the two windmills on the rue Lepic, the Moulin de la Galette. You can also see the dome of the Sacré Coeur from the balcony.
Relax on the sofa and look out at the lush green gardens across the road. You may think you are in the heart of the countryside - wonderfully
refreshing after a long day of sightseeing!
To ensure you feel completely at home the salon is fully equipped with a TV, DVD player and CD player. We have provided a selection of CDs and DVDs
for those times when you just want to relax in your "own" home.
The dining area features a table that can seat six if you want to entertain or fold down to allow for an intimate meal for two.
The bedroom is at the other end of the apartment which is very useful if there are more than two of you staying here. It also has large windows
which look out over the gardens at the back of the apartment. On a clear day, you can see right across to the hills outside of Paris.
The bedroom also has a chest of drawers for storing clothes and lots of bookshelves, complete with guides for Paris and plenty of reading material.
The very comfortable queen-sized bed may entice you to sleep in a little longer. The only noise likely to wake you is the bird song outside!
For extra guests, the living room sofa converts to a full-sized double bed and metal shutters on the balcony will block the light to ensure a good
night's sleep.
The kitchen is fully equipped to allow you to cook at home. You can also sample the many wonderful restaurants in the neighbourhood - check out
the guest folder in the apartment for recommendations of tried and trusted cafés, restaurants, etc.
The bathroom is equipped with a small bathtub and a shower - to accommodate the days when you are in a hurry or the nights when you want to relax
in the tub with a glass of wine.
This room has plenty of shelving for your personal belongings as well a hairdryer so that you have less to pack.
The walk-in closet has ample hanging storage for clothes, coat hooks and a set of drawers - perfect for when there are people sleeping in both
the bedroom and the living room.
The décor throughout the apartment is a mix of both classic and modern to give you a taste of the real Paris in your own, however temporary, piece
of the city.
