Set on a corner and facing south and southwest, this third floor Paris furnished apartment is flooded with light, as can be seen from the photo at the top of this page. White walls, chandeliers, mirrors and pale painted furniture combine to create an ambience of simple elegance, spaciousness and charm. The two main rooms retain period oak parquet floors and decorative plaster cornices, and there is a pretty original ceramic, Prussian stove in the bedroom. When entering your Paris furnished let, you arrive in a hallway and the WC is immediately to your left. Although not shown in the photos, there are shelves in the entry hall to provide a place to store suitcases as well as a coat rack to hang your outdoor wear.
Directly in front of you is the entrance to the kitchen that fills with light very easily due to the large window at one end. The modern, bright kitchen is equipped with everything you need, should you decide to take advantage of the many wonderful local food shops and prepare a meal at home, including a self-cleaning oven, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. As there are so many wonderful choices of places to shop and eat in the immediate area, you may find that you only eat breakfast or snacks in the flat. There is also a combination washing machine/dryer under the work surface. Off the hallway, to the left of the kitchen, is the door to the bedroom and the rest of this Paris furnished apartment.
You must walk through the bedroom to reach the salon. The bedroom feels elegantly uncluttered with white furniture and mirrored bedside tables. The telephone is located in this room and it allows for free long distance calls to landline numbers in a large number of countries. Double glazing and lightproof curtains ensure that you will have a restful night in the extremely comfortable queen-sized bed. Style and charm are evident throughout this Paris furnished flat with the careful collection of furniture the owner has chosen. A lovely example of charm that is fit for a Queen in the bedroom is the beautiful, antique mirror above the Prussian stove. Originally, these ceramic Prussian stoves were used to heat the apartments with wooden logs, much like modern fireplaces. Today, the apartment has electric heating that can be individually controlled in each of the rooms.
The bathroom, which is off the bedroom, is well laid out and well lit, with a modern basin and shower with a glass pivot door. The shower stall has the advantage of having both a handheld shower mounted on the wall that you can move to use as well as a large shower head above this. There is also a convenient caddy for you to put your soap, shampoo or other items. The mirrored cabinet over the basin has deep shelves to house all your personal items and contains a hairdryer. There is a second, wall-mounted mirror to assist you when putting on make up or shaving. The salon is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques, contemporary pieces and flea market finds.
Four long windows flanked by white curtains allow you a bird's eye view of Montmartre village life, and the table in the corner of the salon is the perfect place to enjoy a meal while people watching. Sitting by the windows, you can choose one of two views to gaze out on - southwards down vibrant Rue des Martyrs with its shops, bars and cafes or westwards towards the tree-lined Place des Abbesses. You can relax on the sofa, which converts to a double bed for extra guests. A chest of drawers and antique armoire supply ample storage for all your clothes and belongings. Below the Regency mirror on the chimney breast is a pretty desk with a top that lets down to provide a place to write or a work surface for your laptop, if you are taking advantage of the high speed wireless internet access.
